About me

My name is Brian Zupanick and I spent my early childhood and young adulthood in the state of Michigan. I now reside in New York City pursuing a career in performing arts as an actor.  I am also an artist that primarily works with acrylic paints, and I invite you to view my artwork at bmzgallery.com to better understand me as an artist in general.  I am as interesting and colorful as my paintings are; multilayered, intense and passionate.

There are many reasons for an individual to choose acting as a career, and one criteria seems to be out of your mind, but with all kidding aside, there are different reasons why one chooses this career, which can often be unstable and tear you apart.  Many want fame and fortune, but this is not the reason for me choosing this career.  I am creative person by nature, and I enjoy being around creative and inspiring people.

This business is a collaborative effort, and forces people to interact with each other on a level that I feel has been slowly disappearing in this world.  An actor is only as good as the directors, fellow actors, set designers, choreographers, make up artists, and countless others.  It doesn’t matter what duty an individual is in charge of, it could be very small or large, because everyone is important.

Acting to me is a breath of fresh air, whether you are the one performing or watching someone.  This business can be extremely hard on a person, because an actor is exposed for all to see, but it can also be very rewarding.  If I had to choose one word to define acting, that word would be “release.”  To become more intimate with yourself and others also means achieving a bit more wisdom in life.
